Hadestown Dominates With Top Prizes

NEW YORK (June 10, 2019) - The 73rd Annual Tony Awards were awarded on Sunday at Radio City Music Hall in New York, recognizing the best in Broadway productions during the 2018-19 season.

The musical "Hadestown" took home the top prize for Best Musical, as well as seven other awards, including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. Ali Stroker became the first wheelchair user to win a Tony Award, taking home the trophy for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in "Oklahoma!".

Other big winners of the night included "To Kill a Mockingbird," which won three awards including Best Play; "Moulin Rouge! The Musical," which won two awards including Best Musical Direction; and "The Ferryman," which also won two awards.
